Rootedness always comes first. In order to bear fruit that remains, God comes alongside us to develop a root system. It’s often in the unseen devotion, prayer, worship, and service where God prepares us for a purpose. When our roots are planted deep, we become like the tree in Psalm 1:3:
You are like a tree, planted by flowing, cool streams of water that never run dry. Your fruit ripens in its time; your leaves never fade or curl in the summer sun. No matter what you do, you prosper.
